Instructions
1. Opener: Modeling Reflection [10 minutes].
Explain to students that today’s class is a time for them to reflect on what they have learned so far in the first unit of these lessons.
Share with students the self-assessment handout.
Briefly, model for students how your thinking changed while teaching these lessons or learning about The Good Project frameworks.
2. Complete Activity: Student Self-Assessment [25 minutes].
Ask students to complete the student self-assessment sheet. As noted on the worksheet, this can be done through writing, audio recording, or video recording.
3. Class discussion [10 minutes].
Bring the class back together and ask students to share their impressions of this reflective exercise. Some example prompts:
What surprised you when you looked back at your earlier portfolio work?
What do you feel confident that you know now, that you didn’t know before?
What are you still unsure about and hope to learn more about in future lessons?
Ask students to add this activity to their Good Work portfolios.
